help writing a layout

hello all !

i need to write 2 layouts:

1) a layout with a square in the middle that changes the color in the square during the application, where there are 10 different colors and i change to tje right color when needed.

2) a layout to represent a point(x,y) in a 2-dimension space(XY), when the (0,0) is in the middle of the screen and
i can put for example a red point in (1,1).

I really need help immediately in both of the layers, if you know how to implement only one of them it can also help me.

Programming a target in Android

Hello

I'm currently trying to program a target as part of an Android App.
I want the user to be able to touch a particular band within the target and the app to acknowledge the area selected i.e. coordinates and put that data into a database.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can make an image of a target function in this way?

Thanks

Testing apps on HTC EVO in Eclipse

Cannot get Eclipse to see my phone to test out apps. I downloaded the windows driver and placed it in my Android SDK folder, pointed the windows new hardware installer to it, but it still won't see my phone. Supposedly, when my phone is plugged in, Eclipse should run my application on my phone instead of the emulator. Is there anything else I need to be doing to make this happen? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Detect when apps are started

Hi Guys,
There are a few 'app lock' apps out there that request a password before they give access to an app you select.

I'm working on a different project but i'd like to detect when the user starts other apps. I know it can be done because somehow these 'app lock' apps fire each time I open, for example, my messaging app that I chose to protect within the app lock app

Hope that makes sense. Anyone know which classes I should be looking at to accomplish this?
Cheers
Ian

Progress Dialog doesn't work until thread finishes its job

Hello my friends!
I'm have a problem when working with progress dialog and thread.
I want to show all images from sdcard. Because of the long loading time, I'd like to use a progress dialog end then discard it when the loading images finishes.

However, it doesn't work as I expected. The progress dialog hibernates while the thread is running ( the loading images from sdcard and showing them to a listview ).

What's the problem here?

This is my codes:

// use button click to open images from sdcard
btnClick=(Button)findViewById(R.id.btnClick);
btnClick.setOnClickListener(new OnClickListener() {
@Override
public void onClick(View v) {
System.gc();
// show progress dialog
showDialog(DIALOG2_KEY);

// start a new thread to load images and then discard the progress dilog
ShowImage();
}
})

// Create a new thread for loading images
