WiFi Access Point

It would be nice if I could turn my Android phone into an wifi access point / gateway, using my EDGE/3G data network for internet connectivity. I would also like to be able to secure it using WPA/WPA2.

Love it! I had the exact same idea myself. This would be incredibly handy on the run. This would be far superior to things like the iPhone proxy app since it requires you set proxy settings on a compatible client and then setup an ad hoc netowork. This would simply just work for any device with no setup other than entering a WPA key. Someone could even just port the open source dd-wrt (http://www.dd-wrt.com) or tomato (http://www.polarcloud.com/tomato) router firmware to Android and save themselves a lot of work. Cant wait for Android!
