MythTV Mobile

There are currently ways to stream MythTV to mobile devices and I believe there is a project to stream live TV using flash. However, these are still not the ideal solution that one might be looking for. Therefore, I would like to suggest a mobile app for accessing a back end MythTV box/server.

I'm not suggesting porting the full front end like what has recently been done on the nokia N810. I'm suggesting a new program that would allow watching live TV, recorded videos, movies, music, and managing and viewing recordings. Much of this could be done through other media programs, but I would suggest maintaining easy access to functions like changing channels as well as live pause, rewind, and fastforward.

This project might be best suited to do in conjunction with those involved in the MythTV project. Android would be a perfect platform to begin a project like this. After it's initial creation, porting to other devices like the iPhone and Windows Mobile could commence. What does everyone think.

Thanks!

I hope this will help parents with child behavior problems.

Good idea

hey guys, I'm working in video streaming for android, how is your progress about this?

awesome, im in!

this sounds like an awesome idea, and im a big mythtv user/fan. there would probably be a custom transcode sequence if users configured it that way, or the 3gp video might be light enough to do a live-transcode.

we really need to wait and see what the real devices actually support for streaming video--the sdks have been pretty picky to date.
