Nexus 6 aka Nexus X Announcement and Release Date Approaching

nexus 6 release infoThe Nexus 6 or Nexus X whatever it may be called will be announced and released October or November this year according to sources.

With all of the hype around Google’s next flagship device the Nexus 6 aka Nexus X there has been no word around its actual release date. This said there have been many sources reporting that the new Nexus X will be released in either October or November this year along side the official announcement of the device.

There has only been one truly reliable source mention the release date of the Nexus 6. This comes from Google Vice President Sundar Pichai during Mobile World Congress this year stating that the new Google flagship device would be announced in October. With no confirmation at this point Inferse reported that the Nexus 6 (Nexus X codenamed Motorola Shamu) would be unveiled on October 31st. This said they mention the Nexus 6 being announced end of October but being released in November. Following recent releases it seems the Nexus 6 will likely be announced and released on the same day.

The Nexus 6 aka Nexus X aka Motorola Shamu is said to have some extraordinary upgrades over the Nexus 5 according to G4Games. They report that the Nexus X will be running a 1.5Ghz Quad-core MT6732 64-bit processor or a 2.0 Ghz Octa-core MT6752 SoC processor. There has however been other reports like Antutu benchmarks claiming a 2.5Ghz Wualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset. Antutu also claims the new Nexus device will have 3GB of RAM and a 1440x2560p resolution with a 13MP rear camera and 2.1MP front camera (so much for the 20MP camera they have reported prior to this).

What we do trust is that the Nexus 6 (Nexus X) will likely be running Android L with other features consistently showing up in specifications and benchmarks being a 3100mAh Li-Polymer battery, Wifi (duh), 4G LTE (duh), Bluetooth 4.0 (duh) and microUSB connection. Something that has also been mentioned but not likely to be confirmed before announced is a curved LCD display although it would be a cool design feature to make it stand out from the competition.

As the Nexus 6 (Nexus X) release date comes closer we will be sure to update everyone. We will likely have more information by the end of October and will know what is rumor and fact very soon as October-November is approaching quickly. We would be very surprised if nothing is announced or released by the end of November as so many sources are reporting the device will be in the Play store by then. How likely are you to buy the new Google flagship when its released?
