BlackBerry Consumers Switching to iPhone

blackberry trade-inOur friends at Cashforphonescomparison.co.uk just sent us their latest survey data, showing the diminishing loyalty of BlackBerry consumers in 2014.

Survey results show:

- 65.79 percent of people trading in an old BlackBerry device on Cashforphonescomparison say they are upgrading to an iPhone
- 7.89 percent of people trading in an old BlackBerry say they are staying loyal to the brand
- 6.68 percent of people trading in an old BlackBerry say they are switching to a Samsung device

- Interestingly, 42.1 percent of people trading in their old BlackBerry device told them they're getting the iPhone 4, while only 5.26 percent plan to get the iPhone 5S

Brand trade-in market share

- The BlackBerry Bold 9790 is the top traded in BlackBerry device on Cashforphonescomparison - making up 0.96 percent of all trade-ins
- Samsung's Galaxy S3 currently makes up the most trade-ins on the site - with a 9.24 percent smartphone trade-in market share

For me – as an Android enthusiast – this is quite strange, but a discussion with Cashforphonescomparison.co.uk pointed out that it’s maybe because the business who tend to use Blackberry may find the iOS infrastructure more secure than Android.
