The Moto X’s Android 4.4 KitKat update may have started rolling out today and the new DROID family may be getting updated soon, but that doesn’t mean other Motorola phones are being left out.

According to Motorola’s website some other phones will be receiving the update as well. You have to drop down the menu and select by carrier to check for your respective phone, but we’ve gathered up a short list. Here is what is tentatively and eventually receiving an update to that latest and greatest version of Android:

Hangouts updated on iOS, more features than Android

hangoutsA recent post on Google Plus has revealed that Hangouts has been updated for iOS. Usually, this news would not spur a post here. The inclusion of features Android users do not yet have, however, has me curious.

The update includes every feature Android users have in our app. Further, new features we don’t have are available to iPhone users. No word yet on if or when we will see the Android app support this, however it’s quite possible they’ll be available with the Kitkat update.

Google Drive for Android Updated Bringing Document Scanning

The most notable update though is one of great significance:

Swiftkey Flow beta inches toward final release with new update

Swiftkey Flow moved on step closer to a final, official release today with the rollout of a new beta version of the keyboard app. As one might expect, the update includes even better predictability and easier changing or correction of previous words. Additionally, the new build also lets users “flow” in just about every text field imaginable.

Updated Paypal app, new UI

Paypal recently updated their app to version, bringing us a brand new UI and bringing the web payment solution’s mobile client more into line with Android’s design language. We also get a new functionality surrounding account management as well as sending and requesting money. Paypal calls it “the features that matter to you most.”

Remember Chameleon Launcher? If you don’t, Chameleon Launcher is the launcher that completely redefines how you look at your home screen. Chameleon, run by Teknision, lets users change up their home screens based on their locations and moods. Users have the ability to choose different interactive widgets to place on their tablet’s home screen for easy access. When Chameleon first launched, it didn’t have all of the widgets and features that people wanted. So, thankfully, Teknision has listened to their consumers, and they have pushed out an update.

htc one x ice creamIf you have an International version of the HTC One X you can now grab the update from Android 4.0.3 to Android 4.0.4. This update comes soon after AT&T’s version received the update, which seems a bit backwards from the way updates are usually released.

The update to Android 4.0.4 on the international HTC One X has improved the HTC Sense experience by giving the ability to access app menu’s with the recent app key, improvements to the browsers tab management, and enhanced the camera a bit. Besides the physical improvements that you may see there has also been enhancements to the HTC One X memory, stability, and overall browsing experience.

Launchers have become a very big deal in the Android world because of the amount of customization and convenience that they give users. A Kickstarter project by the name Chameleon has been advertising itself as “a better home screen for your Android tablet”. This project asked for $30,000 in order to start their project up. As it turns out, with the help of 6,420 backers, Teknision (the group that is creating Chameleon) has raised twice that amount.

Google Wallet Updates To Add Any Card To Your Mobile Wallet

google wallet

The main thing that has been keeping me from using Google Wallet is the fact that only one card was primarily supported. That’s all changed with today’s update.

As of today, Google Wallet now supports Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover! That’s great news for those of you who are like me and didn’t own a Citi Mastercard. This update really opens up Google Wallet for all kinds of users.

Developer gives update, Carbon twitter app is coming for free in premium flavor

If you don't already know, the Google Play Store doesn't allow ALL countries from around the world the ability to publish paid applications. Carbon was waiting for this year's Google I/O to see if all that changed, which it didn't. So they decided to... well, read it for yourself:
