There were lots of great products unveiled Monday at CES 2014, but ASUS announced a real game-changer with the world’s first quad-core, dual operating system tablet/notebook convertible, the Transformer Book Duet TD300.

ASUS Transformer Pad Infinity Unboxed, Benchmarked, And Compared To The New iPad

asusASUS officially announced the Transformer Pad Infinity (TF700T for those who prefer model numbers) back at Mobile World Congress in February. In terms of hardware, the Infinity is nearly identical to the Transformer Prime, but it features a higher resolution 1920x1200 Super IPS+ display, improved Wi-Fi and GPS reception, and a higher resolution front facing camera.

Since the official announcement, ASUS has been pretty quiet - it has yet to come out with an official release date or finalized pricing. However, it looks like the time is getting close, as Richie's Room has taken the TF700T for a spin, and even took the time to compare it to the new iPad (the results may surprise you).

Google Translate Updated To Version 2.4 With Holo UI And More Text To Speech Languages

google translateGoogle has just dropped a Google Translate update into the Play Store, bringing it into a new ICS-flavored age. The most obvious change is the switch over to a Holo interface complete with clean drop down menus, an action bar, and better speech recognition. For the weary world traveler, things also get easier with wider language support.

The app performs sometimes imperfect text translation between 64 different languages. The app can also listen and transcribe spoken words in 17 languages to save you keystrokes. This version ups the number of dialects that can be spoken out loud by the phone to 40, including Esperanto (which people totally still speak someplace). Any translation that uses non-Latin characters will be spelled out for you so you can attempt to pronounce it.
