We just recieved some new Nexus devices in the office (Nexus 4, Nexus 5, Nexus 10), so it was really strange to read about these rumors just before the unboxing. If true, this may be sad for many, but according to @eldarmurtazin on Twitter, Google will be killing off the Nexus line by next year in favor of Google Play Edition devices.
Google’s first Nexus phone started out as a developer device, but through the years the lineup became more and more popular with the end-user market as well. Last year’s Nexus devices produced great sales figures, and the new generation is even more promising. The Nexus 5 will not only rival the iPhone 5S in hardware performance, but it should be half the cost of Apple’s flagship device. At least that’s what a source close to TechRadar said earlier this week.

So a couple of days ago the Galaxy Nexus was removed from the Play Store following on from one of Apple’s many injunctions they have taken out recently. However from today the flagship Android phone is now once again available from the Play Store. Although the device can be purchased from the store the device won’t ship for 2-3 weeks.

A hot new rumor just hit the internet which suggests we'll be celebrating Android's fifth birthday in a major way this November. According to a trusted TalkAndroid source, we'll be getting five Pure Android/Nexus devices come November 5th.
