Sony Ericsson Devices Getting Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

seSony Ericssin promised a while ago that they would bring Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to their 2011 devices and now heres the list. They have detailed the list of phones that will get the update along with when the updates will start rolling out. The following devices will get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich between late March and early April.

Samsung: Galaxy S II, Galaxy Note, Galaxy R, Tab 7.0 Plus, 7.7, 8.9, 10.1 All To Get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich

xoomSince the Android 4.0.3 source code has been made available via the Android Open Source Project we can expect many new ports of Ice Cream Sandwich to devices. One device that has already seen some action from the development community is the Motorola Xoom seen above.

Android 4.0.3 Platform and SDK Tools Available

sdkToday the Android 4.0.3 Platform and updated SDK tools were released for Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. This release includes not only many optimizations but also bug fixes for phones and tablets. The API level is now 15 with a few added API’s for developers.

Sony Ericsson releases alpha version of Android 4.0 ROM for unlocked Xperia models

Sony Ericsson just dropped a note in our inbox to advise that they've released an alpha version of an Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for unlocked Xperia devices. If you call yourself a proud owner of an Xperia arc S, Xperia neo V, or Xperia ray, then you can be on the front side of an Android 4.0.1 experience. This is the first time Sony Ericsson has done something along these lines and they are very happy to be able to provide such a service.


Flash coming to Ice Cream Sandwich

Those of you that have already been lucky enough to get your hands on a Galaxy Nexus may have noticed that it doesn’t have flash on it. Then going to the Market to download flash you have again noticed that its not there as well.
