Sony Smartwatch to be Launched in Conjunction with Xperia S

It seems that smart watches are a bit of a theme at this year's CES. Motorola debuted an MP3-focused smart watch (though not Android based), and earlier today we told you about the I'm Watch. As an upgrade to the LiveView that they released last year, Sony revealed the SmartWatch (which begs the question of what we're supposed to call other smart watches). The SmartWatch sports a 1.3-inch color OLED touchscreen that displays information from your phone when the two are paired together.

What a surprise! Polaroid announces Smart Camera

Now, just when we hear about Kodak going under, it would seem Polaroid is making bids to stay in the photography game. Today, at CES, they announced they would be releasing an Android-powered Smart Camera called the Polaroid SC1630. It will have an HD 16MP camera with 3X optical zoom, touchscreen display and Wi-Fi – making it perfect for the social photographer. Read on past the break for the full press release. FAVI Entertainment Announces First Android Pocket Projector

faviThe FAVI A3-WiFi is the latest in Android innovation, giving users a portable "pocket projector." Priced at $374 this little doohickey uses Wifi and Google Chrome to project video on a wall or screen. Boasting an 800x600 resolution and a contrast radio of 1000:1 this guy has the specs to make it a viable option for presentations. Once the presentation is over, simply toss the FAVI A3-WiFi into the briefcase or pocket until next time.

Nyxio Smart TV featuring Android at CES2012

nyxioA smart tv is good, but a smart tv with Android could be great. Nyxio Technologies is formally announcing the debut of their latest edition to the 2012 product line, The Nyxio Smart TV with Android OS. Ranging in sizes from 21" to 65", the whole line will come with HD/LED technology along with touchscreen capability. Nyxio believes this to be a one-of-a-kind Android product and with full access to the Android Market it sounds very interesting!

Huawei to announce 2 new smartphones, one being world’s thinnest

In the latest from the madhouse, Huawei has announced two new phones: the Ascend P1 S and the Ascend P1. The unveiling will be happening at 8 AM PST. The Ascend P1S will be coming in at just 6.68 mm thin, making it the world's (currently) thinnest smartphone. The P1 will have all the same specs, but will come in a bit thicker, and will most likely be for LTE markets. Specs include:

Always Innovating Announces The HDMI Dongle - An Itty Bitty Alternative To The Set-Top Box

thumbAlways Innovating, a company which "leverages the latest developments in open source technologies worldwide to create innovative products that solve real problems for consumers," will be debuting a new device at CES this year – the HDMI Dongle. The Dongle looks to replace the set-top box for those who aren't interested in buying a hefty (or more expensive) GoogleTV device.

AI's HDMI Dongle is essentially a complete system on a chip, and has some incredible specs for such a tiny device. Supposedly starting at just $79, the device comes with a Cortex-A9 processor (capable of 1GHz to 1.8GHz speeds, depending on configuration), between 256MB and 1GB RAM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and NFC Connectivity, an accelerometer, and a bundled remote.

Acer brings amazing 1080p tablet to CES 2012

All I can say right now is “WOW!” Acer unveiled its new 1920×1080 (1080p) Iconia Tab at CES 2012 today. The tablet will ship with Android 4.0, weigh in at 650g and will pack an impressive array of ports (HDMI, microUSB, and microSD) along with a Tegra3 SoC.

Corning To Showcase Gorilla Glass 2 At CES, Exhibit New Applications For The Next Generation Of Damage-Resistant Glass

It seems that Corning is gearing up for an exciting CES this year (which is just a few short days from beginning), publishing a news release earlier today which details the glass giant's plans for the world's largest consumer technology tradeshow.
Corning's most significant offering at CES this month will be the unveiling of Gorilla Glass 2. The latest generation of Corning's hugely popular damage-resistant glass is said to deliver higher functionality in thinner devices, and "enable broader touch technology penetration," according to James Steiner, Senior VP and General Manager of Corning Specialty Materials. Corning promises to reveal more details in an announcement set for January 9th.

LG Announces Smart TV With Google TV, Featuring LG's Cinema 3D - To Be Shown At CES

Well, that was quick. Shortly after new Google TV partners were announced, LG has announced one of their Android-powered offerings: the LG Smart TV with Google TV. Details are scant at this point, as the device won't be demonstrated until CES, but we do know that it will launch in two series at some point this year.

We've already seen the Revue receive the Honeycomb 3.1 update, bringing the all-important Market access to the platform, and now Google has announced a host of Google TV partners who plan to unveil hardware at CES next week:
